  3. Yes it is switched on because i want a cut with a specific depth. But sometimes the change of the paramer does not change the depth at all. Or you enter a very small value, and the cut is really deep, and so on.
  4. I think shift + alt + rmb should work and not interfer.
  5. Seems the same with split tool. Anyone having these issues too ?
  6. Okay with ignore backfaces option it works better, but seems that it does not work correctly the most of the time either.
  7. Hi guys, I have a cut off issue in voxel room. I try to cut with depth but independent of the depth setting the cut is always the same. Additionally when symmetry is on, the depth setting is ignored completely and it cuts through the whole mesh. I am using orthographic view and when cutting I am looking in the normal direction (screen based cut). Any suggestions to resolve this issue ? Using version 4.8.09. Thanks in advance.
  8. This error occurs again in 4.9.09. And then after some restarts it randomly works again.
  9. You can customize the keys. But panning without a modifier key is difficult, because it will interfere with other functionality. But you could try to set the middle mouse button to pan.

  12. how did you make the highlights ? With specular ? Then this should be in the specular map (or rough, metallness) and not in diffuse map. If you export, you can export the other maps too.
  13. As I know, there is no way, except the autosmoothing option, but then it will ignore your imported normals and calculate new ones, dependent on the angle. As I said, you can model support edges and then there will be fewer gradients.
  14. Hi guys, so I have installed yesterday the windows creator fall update and now 3d coat does not work with a stylus in the wintab mode (it is only possible to orbit around). So I switched to tablet pc mode in 3d coat preferences and the problem is that it is very clunky (especially the zoom is very slow) compared to wintab. I use it on my 3 year old laptop so other users may not notice this. I have tried to install the newest wacom wintab drivers but this did not change anything. I am using 3d coat 4.8.08. Is there any chance the wintab mode will work like in the past again ?
  15. Why don't you use freeze and then move ? Topological move is surely not a reason to use ZBrush, because you can easily freeze correctly and use the normal move tool. It is a little bit slower okay, but ZBrush lacks for example curve splines which can be defined and modified correctly, now this is really a point not to use ZBrush
  16. Sure bugs to solve is really important. I am sure the developers do their best to solve them. Luckily I did not encounter many of them, for example I use the symmetry function very often and like it. What errors did you get there? It is important to use some relative new drivers and the newest version of 3d coat. Saying that, what I really would like is new better brushes in voxel mode and adaptive voxels or how do you call them, analog to live clay. Blocking in 3d coat is fantastic and I would like to stay in voxel mode till the end, it is much more powerful. By the way, write down your errors here, other users are perhaps to be able to help you.

  20. You mean the color gradients on plane faces ? This is because 3d Coat smooths the normals. If you hide the normal map in the layer editor you will see that the normals are smoothed. But this is okay. You can get better results if you support your faces with additional edges / edge loops.
  21. Have 16 GB ram, and normally 3D Coat does not take more than 5 GB on my computer.
  22. You can do anythink you can imagine with blender and 3d coat. Your artistic skills are far more important than a software. ZBrush is a really capable software but I think it is really not so straight forward like 3d Coat. It is really not so ergonomic, no idea who came up with the UI concept Some points for 3d Coat vs ZBrush: - ZBursh brushes work better for me than in 3d Coat, they seem to work exacter and have a better feel - 3d Coat stroke control (control points and so on) is better than in ZBrush (really poor implemented, wtf) - 3d Coat is better for blocking out with the voxel mode - ZBrush has some features which are not in 3d Coat, for example Hair. - 3d Coat has far better painting
