  1. I was surfing around on the internet while rendering and I stumbled upon this 3D software and it made me cry a little with my rendertime being 3 hours a frame.. Its still in the make but I think this means: no more retopo.. If you dont like the first video.. please skip it and watch the second one.. realtime 4.97 billion polygons on screen while playing animation..
  2. Im not quite sure what you are saying.. but I would like to see the examples you were talking about.. Surprise me!
  3. Thats odd that it destroys the mesh.. I use it daily.. still no destroyed mesh.. Just noticed that clean up memory alone also fixes this problem for me.. did not know that.. thanks!
  4. Im not sure if this will work.. since the quality of external projection is totally depended of the texture size you work with you cant get sharper resolution than the texture size you've applied in 3DCoat.. If you really want uber resolution you should look into PTEX, or multiple UV-Sets to really get the most out of it.
  5. Also noticed this problem.. I solved it by doing this: voxel --> clean surface followed with voxel --> clean memory Everything seems te work correctly for me after doing this..
  6. Yea that sounds like a more accurate description of what I'm experiencing..
  7. Yea im having the same problem, I can still work like this but it feels quite annoying..
  8. Wow great results! Smart trick with using alpha to blend seams..
  9. You can always export your retopo mesh and reimport it for another character, if the character has the same size it should be no problem. However if it does not fit on the other character you need to perform some tweaks to make it work.
  10. Would you also like to upload some tests after playing around with it? Would like to see some cool results..
  11. I did not know because Im not a Blender user..
  12. I was not aware that Blender Cycles does not support normal maps, normal maps have become quite important these days.. Its kinda hard to see the seams on your picture btw so I would say it worked out quite well.. Looks really cool im gonna check it out today if I find some spare time.. Yea I wil also probably buy this application whenever I need it for one of my next projects, I've used the demo I and really like it! Yea whats up with Xnormal not being able to do this? I would also like to see Xnormal improve their vector displacement baking tool..
  13. Wow! Never heard of this program.. but it actually looks quite nice! I think I might try this one for fun.. But yea too bad its PC only, at my work we only use Mac so I cant show this software to my boss.. he might have been interested in this app.
  14. I found this program on the internet.. It has some cool features.. looks like its working better than crazy bump + the price is quite affordable..
  15. Yea it has been a deal for like a year now I think.. but you need to pay + $50 dollars for the membership itself.. so you're back at square..
  16. Have you tried the applink? http://3d-coat.com/applinks/
  17. I dont think anyone will benefit from sculpting in stereo, its just not gonna work with wearing glasses.. Have you tried modeling stereo in Maya or Cinema 4D? It is really really annoying.. tried it for fun.. it is quite ok to see stereo stereo when its rendered but while working.. not so nice.
  18. Looking good allready, curious about the end result.. Im also participating but I will be starting quite late.. need to finish two projects first..
  19. +1 for the thumbnails It would be nice indeed to have thumbnails of recent projects, I usually re-open a last closed scene or I start out with completely blank scene when it comes to painting. In voxel sculpting however I usually open the standart cube for some reason..
  20. Cool!! Good to see you on the 3DCoat forum! So no more FX in the (near) future? I really loved your tests, it really inspired me to do fluid sims at first I used Maya fluids but now I made a switch to Houdini.. its absolutely amazing so if you're bored one day I recommend you to check that out.. Are you using 3DCoat for hardsurface only now?
  21. Nice start! Do you happen to be THE David Schonenveld? AKA Agent Fx? If so: I've been a big fan of your work, loved your Maya fluid sims and it inspired to get me into Maya Fluids.. I also used to follow your blog for a while..
