  1. There are a lot of very interesting feature requests in mantis hidden "deep below the old dust" since 3.x... Maybe the guys should first look there before wasting time for seeking new ideas?
  2. Maybe I am wrong, but eventually the tecnique for managing textures changed in the meantime?
  3. Mir ist gerade eingefallen wie man Cluster doch auswählen kann. 1. Wechsle in "Nähte markieren" 2. Setze oben den Selektions-Modus auf "Polygoninseln" 3. Klicke in die Mitte einer quadratischen Fläche (Wichtig: Nicht auf die Kante, sondern in die Mitte einer Fläche klicken. Das sieht man daran, wenn das Quadrat aufleuchtet. Sonst leuchten immer nur die Kanten auf.) -> Zack. Ist die Insel(Cluster) ausgewählt.
  4. Einfach die temporäre komplexe Textur einblenden. Die hat Buchstaben und Zahlen. So sieht man wo oben oder unten ist. So kann man übrigens auch Cluster an fertige Texturen ausrichten.
  5. Nein, nicht so richtig. Man kann nur an das Grid snappen oder sich mit anderen Mitteln behelfen.
  6. Mir ist leider keine direkte Cluster-Selektion bekannt. Wünschen sich aber Einige...

  8. Do someone has an idea why I am not able to move stencils / masks projections with the keyboard anymore? It worked all the time. After the last update not anymore. In version 4.1 all works perfect. It driving me crazy when I have to press the icons ! HELP! I reinstalled all versions back. Even 4.5.12 keyset is not working. Do I overlook something?!
  9. Es ist normal, das man cluster an die Textur anpasst. 3D-Coat entfaltet immer nach Möglichkeit korrekt. Das heisst, es wird nie quadratische Elemente geben. Diesen Modus gibt es nicht in 3D-Coat. Wenn Dein Charakter die Haartextur nicht mit anderen Charaktern teilt, würde ich die Haare direkt auf das Modell malen.
  10. What the heck happened to the stencil navigation? I am not able to move, scale or rotate stencils anymore by using the shortcuts. Only the buttons in the options window works. Do someone else has this problem? No other update before destroyed my keyset here. Is this because the new smart material navigation? EDIT: I started the 4.1 Version and there the stencil / masks navigation works perfect.
  11. Maybe. The main target of this step is to serve better team development possibilities. This is REALLY much more IMPORTANT than any other wishes. But Andrew told us that there will be some small speed improvements.

  14. Sorry to say that and it is not helpful, but my opinion: "A stable tool does not mean it is free of bugs. It just mean it does not crash more often than usual." I hope Andrews current work will lead to a more bug free tool. But I am hopeful.
  15. Thank you for the proposal. The retopo method is a very good way to do this. But it has big disadvatanges. When you have a bended model you can't just retopo it and set sharp edges. The reason for this is: You can't move vertices along normal direction yet in retopo room. This would solve this challenge. We have objects that are not symmetrical and with different bended edges on all sides. This makes it really tricky to set a technical correct sharp edge. But I gave the retopo room another try after your proposal and made some further tests. Your idea pointed me to the "Scale" tool in the retopo room. There it is possible to scale uniform selected edges and this could be the solution for my issue. Thank you Chris

  17. Do you mean the position AFTER you exported your model from 3D-Coat? Because all works fine here. 1. Have exported a mesh from blender as an OBJ. 2. Imported it into 3DC, scaled it. Keeped position and skaling. (No autoscaling used) 3. Then sculpted a bit. 4. Exported it back to blender again in OBJ format. -> In blender it was positioned exactly at the same position. EDIT: The same works fine with FBX.
  18. Post such nice stuff into your personal free gallery in this forums. This are good refs for 3D-Coats main gallery. We can only present your work to the audience when it is in your forums galleries. Thank you
  19. Thank you all for the answers. I have attached an example szene for own testing. Are you so kind and check it? My results: 1. The curve stroke brush does not work here with my model. It is broken in my eyes. The curve stroke does not work in many tools correctly. I am always working in ortho mode by the way. Even marking elements like in the angulator does not work on all objects with the curve stroke. The curve stroke is completely unusable currently in the Sculpt room. See the attached shot what happen, when I press the return key when using pinch. 2. Manually brushing works only for free sculpting. It is nothing for technical models, that came from 3D-scans. We are working with 3D-Scans here and expand them in 3D-Coat. The tool must produce as correct results as possible. Free sculpting is unfortunately a "no go" in this situation. Again: A correct curve stroke brush would help... 3. Very interesting idea but a lot of work and it works not always well in my situation. Too much additional correction. By the way: 3D-Coat crashed after using Spline tool this way. But I was not able to reproduce it. Before the crash there were mesh holes artefacts in the voxel object and after I used the inc res button 3DC crashed. Hm. As long as the curve stroke tool is not fixed all the nice tools like pinch or angulator are unusable for creating really straight / curved lines. I have to write to Andrew.   20. Do someone have an idea how to make round edges sharpen? What I need is a inverted smoothing function. I don't want to smooth an edge, instead I want to make it sharpen. The angulator and the creasing tool are going into the right direction. My problem is they don't produce correct edges. Additionally the curve pens are are buggy with the crease tool and produce complete wrong results in my eyes. The only crease that is working is the one in the general clay tool. Any ideas? Example:
  21. Is someone observing extreme problems mith curved strokes? It is hard to reproduce on default objects. Is someone so kind and test curved strokes with the angulator please. I have real problems to mark elements. Regular strokes works great, but the curved ones.
