Member mccabe86 Posted January 22, 2014 Member Report Share Posted January 22, 2014 So when I apply my uv's to my 3D coat model in Maya I get really bad UV seams as shown here (Maya software render): I have seen this mentioned in a previous post and the reply was to turn off smoothing groups. However, even after some research, I'm not entirely sure what this means. If anyone could shed some light on this I would much appreciate it! Member mccabe86 Posted January 22, 2014 Author Member Report Share Posted January 22, 2014 Update: I re-exported the model from 3D coat and re-set it up and it worked fine. If anyone knows why it might have happened that would be useful to know too. Thanks!
Contributor TimmyZDesign Posted January 22, 2014 Contributor Report Share Posted January 22, 2014 Maybe turn on padding in the export dialog.

Member mccabe86 Posted January 23, 2014 Author Member Report Share Posted January 23, 2014 Thanks very much for your responses. Maybe turn on padding in the export dialog. I have started to use padding but I don't think that's the issue as the now working one doesn't have padding. I have a sneaky suspicion that it was actually something I did in Maya as opposed to 3D coat.
