Reputable Contributor digman Posted June 9, 2010 Reputable Contributor Report Share Posted June 9, 2010 I started this creature from the default sphere. I like to throw a quick concept paint job on the creature to help get a idea about his/her personally. I really should do this 2d first, but oh what the heck... The model has a bird and sea creature type look. Teeth, skin type, more details to come. It less than a million voxel count still...
Advanced Member Polygoon Posted June 9, 2010 Advanced Member Report Share Posted June 9, 2010 I like the paint job, is this Ptex with use of a material or mask or something like that? It is an interesting creature.
philnolan3d
It looks nice but something is strange. Some parts of the texture look blurry.
Reputable Contributor digman Posted June 14, 2010 Author Reputable Contributor Report Share Posted June 14, 2010 Polygoon It is Ptex using quadraqulation. The painting was just a quick 15 minute paint job by hand to get an idea of the colors I might like to use. That helps me get a better idea of how I want the creature to look when sculpting. I will repaint it when I completed the model. I also will retopo the final version. Phil, It's blurry because of the specular refection in the render room. The creature will be completed repainted. A small update...
Reputable Contributor digman Posted June 18, 2010 Author Reputable Contributor Report Share Posted June 18, 2010 A few more details added and a quick concept ocean environment to get an idea for a render. No skin details yet or painting on the creature...
Contributor Tony Nemo Posted June 18, 2010 Contributor Report Share Posted June 18, 2010 A few more details added and a quick concept ocean environment to get an idea for a render. No skin details yet or painting on the creature... It looks like an 'ambush' hunter rather than a 'pursuit' hunter.

Advanced Member michalis Posted July 1, 2010 Advanced Member Report Share Posted July 1, 2010 You could separate teeth. More practical. Nice topology anyway.
