  1. Hi, Just had a quick go. You need to use the lattice after you have made the object using the pose tool. In the pose tool ,select the object, then tick 'free form' and ' fit'. Im learning as I go also, so there may be things Ive missed or other ways. ( I tend tend just to use the move tool for this kind of thing.)
  2. Hi, Just sort of glancing at this thread every now and again, did this in about 5 minutes , maybe not what you want , but just did a bit of lateral thinking. I used the spiral primitive then booleoned out the middle with the tube you can see and then flipped the first spiral then just moved them a bit to get some irregularity.
  3. It looks like its a voxel object, to delete it you will have to make a new voxel layer with nothing in it then click on the layer with the ball and delete that layer. You cant just delete that layer straight away because I think you always have to have at least one layer on the go. edit. mind you it doesnt seem to be made of any triangles looking at the bottom info line.

  6. You could put a small spheres over the holes then merge them , then just smooth them in.
  7. It looks like you might have a 'strip' selected. Have a look in the 'Strips' tab and click the 'close' button to deselect it if thats the case.
  8. The first thing that comes to mind is , have any of these three 'balls' been checked or unchecked? If the specular has been checked that might be your problem.
  9. Pretty sure Freeze does not work in Voxels, because of the very nature of what Voxels actually are . You can freeze a surface mesh because its only the outer skin so to speak, where as Voxels are volumetric so you cant select an 'outer skin' because of all the underlying volumetric geometry. That is how I understand it, hopefully a techie can put me right and explain it better.
  10. Hi, just install the latest version, it doesn't install over the version you have, you will then have two versions in your start menu. Then you can use the previous version also. I usually have about three on the go, then uninstall the oldest when I think the latest is stable for my purposes. All your settings are stored in a separate folder so they can be accessed by the new version.
  11. Here is a quicky, I sometimes get a pose tool bug and I have fixed it by merely moving the bugged object up the ' y' axis. Ya never know could be that simple.
  12. Thanks, I deleted just the one that said "options"xml , do you mean ALL the Options xmls, just deleting "options" xml did not work. I dont want to start deleting things I know nothing about at the moment , all my shortcuts need to work right now as I am working and I dont want to be messing about fixing stuff while I have a client waiting. I will use 25 beta until I get more time to look at it.
  13. The scale button in Transform in Beta 31 has gone AWOL again, having to go back to 25, whats happened.
  14. ha , yes, forgot the model would then be brought back in not the way you want it. Would it be so hard to have it just take a camera view snapshot.
  15. Thanks. Yeah thats the way, hee hee . A bit of minor pain really , rotate, save , undo rotate. Wonder why its set up like that... unless everybody sculpts stuff lying down , ok for coffins I suppose.
  16. How can I change the position of thumbnails in the "Models" tab. If my model is facing forward in the sculpt window and I save it in "Models" it always saves the thumbnail looking three quarters from the back . Its getting a bit annoying now. Have I missed something here?
  17. Looks like you might be using a PBR shader, try another shader.
  18. I was just thinking about this, I am doing a job at the moment with loads of sculpt layers ( in the sculpt tab not the new "sculpt layers" ) to give the client options .To be able to change the text colour or even the box its in would be smashing.

  20. Yes, my "T" for Transform tool shortcut went funny again last week.( its not done that for ages) I had to tap it twice for it to stick. ( tried deleting assorted options xml, but Im never sure which and where these are , Im always afraid I might break something.) It seems ok at the moment though. It may have been something to do with the particular scene I was re purposing over and over again...perhaps it got clogged up or something. When I started afresh it seemed ok . Like the bug was just contained in a particular scene or something.
  21. Funny little bug in my beta 25, "front" and " back" view shortcut keys will not work in the Retopo work space, but work ok in all the other workspaces. All other views work ok. ( I have them configured to the Number Pad on my keyboard.)
  22. That 540x540 thing worked a treat! Thanks for the lateral thinking. I wonder why typing it in doesnt work. Ive already rendered my turnarounds at 1000 x 1000 and sent them off, so will have to see if he puts them onto his instagram satisfactory, I think they will be fine. I think it probably works with any size or ratio. My monitor is 1920x1080
  23. If you mean the monitor display ,off the top of my head I can't remember. But I used 1000 X 1000 ,that enters ok. A friend asked for some images for Instagram and some website recommended 1080x1080. ( Monitor is 24 inch widescreen,not any sort of fancy high resolution....not near it at the moment)
  24. I'm trying render an turntable and I want it to be 1080x1080 , I can type 1080 in viewsize x but view size y turns to 1058 when I type 1080. ?
  25. ....looks as though you are trying to paint a bump/normal map on an obj that has not been retopoed or UVd yet, bump painting only works on texture maps. ( apologies if Ive misinterpreted your vid.)
