  1. Could you add support for stylus tilt/rotation/fingerwheel1? I'm using a cintiq and I'm also using brush alphas that are line-shaped and I'd like to be able to rotate them just by rotating the pen and not having to stop what I'm doing and adjust the rotation manually with a hotkey or adjusting the brush options. Also, this would let me adjust rotation in mid-stroke. To better illustrate the possibilities of exposing brush parameters to the tablet input, this is what I can do after hacking my wacom driver in a 2D painting program and mapping brush size to a footpedal, using my space navigator to spin the brush and brush smoothing to a second pedal. I'm manually adjusting brush size, smoothing, rotation and opacity (a total of 4 separate parameters) in mid-brushstroke. More realtime-adjustable, stylus-controlled parameters means I get to spend more time painting and less time tweaking settings.

  3. Hello! I am on the last 3 days of my 3dcoat trial (which unfortunately I only just started using a few days ago) and was really liking it, but ran into some trouble. First of all I can not figure out how to apply the Spline Images. I am following the official 3dcoat youtube tutorial on painting. In the video he says to press "enter" to apply the image, yet for me nothing happens. The other issue I have is the horribly ugly paint strokes. With pen pressure activated it creates horrible shoe lace ends (a problem often seen on photoshop) Also the strokes themselves are just bumpy and not smooth. Here is an example Thanks!
  4. Hi, two things. I tried 3D-Coat on my Surface pro 4 and was totally amazed how superb the navigation works with gestures on the screen. This is so amazingly intuitive that I tried doing the same gestures on my Wacom Intuos Pro with Touch on, but I couldn't get it to work. Neither on the Mac no on Windows. Any ideas if or how to get it work like with the surface pro 4?

    [Solved] Wacom Tablet Problems

Hi Guys, So I am just getting back into 3DC after finding out about the latest version being available on Steam. I am trying to use my Wacom graphics tab to sculpt but there is a really annoying 1 second delay (possibly less) that is really noticeable and very difficult to work with. I am wondering if this is a potential bug or whether its some sort of setting within my graphics tab that I can fix. When I use my tab in Zbrush there is no delay and it works instant but in 3DC I try and sculpt with the pen and its as if my tab thinks I'm pressing down and holding, a little white circle appears next to my cursor for just a second and that happens with every touch I make. My graphics tablet is a Wacom Bamboo. I am running Windows 10, I've tried looking for the settings within Windows 10 just in case there was something there but I am having no luck finding anything. One thing to note is that when I first plugged my tab to my computer it thought I was using a touch screen device such as a touch monitor or something, I haven't changed any settings within Windows 10 so everything should be default. I also use a wireless receiver for my tab as well so I don't have a USB cable trailing around. Any help is appreciated

    Windows 8 Touch Screen

Hi everyone. I am very new to sculpting software since I usually just model with Rhino. I'm trying to figure out what type of drawing tablet and pen I should get to fit with 3d-coat since that's the main sculting program I will be using. Do you have any suggestions? I have a windows 8 Toshiba touch screen. Is it possible to just use a pen directly on my laptop screen since it's a touch screen? I'm trying to be frugal. College student budget. Any advice is welcome. Thanks!
  7. Vaiktorg

    Hello Guys! :D + Question!

Hello Guys! I'm Vaiktorg! 20 yrs old and I'm totally new here! x) I'm a Animation student. Today i finally got my hands on 3D Coat and I'm excited to start working on it! Hope to learn lots from you guys and try to contribute to the community. (wont be of much help due to my currently limited knowledge). Im currently having a problem on 3D Coat and my Wacom Bamboo tablet. When i make fast strokes on the model (while sculpting), it flickers for a fractioon of a second and then the stroke goes smoothly again. I have no problem with photoshop, but only with 3D Coat. Thanks!
  9. Greetings All, I've downloaded the trial of 3D Coat after seeing it highly recommended as a UV Tool (still haven't gotten a hang of the UV features, but the interface is pretty awesome). I've found a few good posts about using 3D Coat with MoI and Rhino (listed below*). Any Rhino/MoI users have any strong opinions/tips/caveats about this workflow? How is the Wacom support in 3D Coat? Can I use the full features e.g. pen angle and keys? Can I use the airbrush pen (with the wheel)? Thanks, FDP More details: What I want to use it for: I am looking at using it in a MoI3D/Rhino workflow, replacing Mudbox as a 3D sculpting and Normal/GI baking tool (I have used Mudbox very happily in the past but can't bring myself to pay Autodesk for anything). Also, as mentioned I would use it for UV cleanup/repair. My deliverables range from realtime 3D models (rare) to 3D printing/CAM (very common), with full-res rendering for clients in-between. I use Neon in Rhino these days for rendering, I used to use Turtle/MR in Maya, but then Autodesk bought AW and ruined the party. I need to be able to deliver watertight meshes for printing as well as UV-ed models for use in custom OpenGL renderers and Unity/UDK. My Preferences with similar software: I liked the speed of ZBrush, but hated the UI. As I don't sculpt or texture on every project and sometimes go months without doing so it really helps to have a UI I can return to and not have to relearn every time. I love the UI experience of Mudbox but it choked a bit on high poly models. I haven't used recent versions of either software (~3 years for mudbox, last used ZBrush in 2006), so perhaps they have both improved. *Posts I've looked at: http://3d-coat.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=2166 Moi3D to 3D-Coat to Cinema4D http://3d-coat.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=14879 Moi 3D to 3D coat. Steam & 3d-Coat Beta 4

I just bought the pro version through steam but there is no update option in the software. Is it possible to manually update to the beta 4 version even though I bought the Steam version. P.S..I have some lag when using my wacom intous 5 tablet(mouse is fine) and I'm hoping the update might fix this.

    problem with Wacom

I am modeling a human head currently working on surface mode about 4 millions poly. I found that my Wacom table works properly only for Buildup, Smooth and Move brush other than that they are out of control take Clay brush for example, I need to set depth as low as 2% to make it works properly as you can see on my second picture. Is there a way to set up Wacom sensitivity in 3Dcoat. By the way I did try set up in Wacom tablet property it didn't make things better. And from the third image even though I increased my poly count to around 4 millions I am still see block of pixels a long the creases of the face how do I resolve this. Thank you.
