Contributor Tony Nemo Posted September 15, 2012 Contributor Share Posted September 15, 2012 After using Materials successfully in this project, I now have the problem of the material being greyed out when selected. It appears faded in the Materials tab and nothing is visible in the Paint room except a faded scene with no material to be found. Contributor Tony Nemo Posted September 15, 2012 Author Contributor Share Posted September 15, 2012 No, but thanks for the suggestions.
Contributor BeatKitano Posted September 16, 2012 Contributor Share Posted September 16, 2012 I think you switched to another shading mode by mistake, in view select low smoothshade, or try others to see if it gets back to normal. Also check that the ambient light factor is set to 0 (first light icon from the left, next to camera dropdown menu)
Reputable Contributor digman Posted September 16, 2012 Reputable Contributor Share Posted September 16, 2012 I had the same problem but very seldom. A possible random bug... I would suggest to delete the material (image) and then also delete the tga thumbnail associated with it outside of 3DCoat. Close 3DCoat Reopen 3DCoat and reload the material image into the materials palette. That might fix your problem. It's been a long time but I think that is how I fixed mine whenever that problem appeared Also it is alway good to mention what version you are using... Contributor Tony Nemo Posted September 16, 2012 Author Contributor Share Posted September 16, 2012 Thanks Digman and BeatKitano. I always use the latest beta but I should have mentioned that. To my surprise and relief, the problem disappeared when I started 3DC this morning.
Contributor Tony Nemo Posted September 16, 2012 Author Contributor Share Posted September 16, 2012 The problem disappeared because I had not started Leigh Bamforth's "Reference Image", which I use to align my model with the image in 3DC that I intend to use. After starting "Reference Image", the same problem emerged and when I exited RF, the problem also disappeared.
