Member scallahan3d Posted April 7, 2013 Member Report Share Posted April 7, 2013 Hi, Been playing with the Trial version (3.7). Gonna buy the EDU version today and will upgrade to Pro once I realize I need more than 7 layers. Loved your copter Cutoff hard surface tutorial but I can't for the life of me find that bloody Cutoff tool. Found a Split and that Cut/Clone thingy but can't find the cool Cutoff tool yet. Is it in the Trial version? I'll find out later, I suppose. You did some really nifty stuff playing with that tool. Steve-o
Member scallahan3d Posted April 7, 2013 Member Report Share Posted April 7, 2013 Aha! After reading a few posts, I found the Cutoff tool. Had to show the Beta tools. Got my EDU purchase into Safe Harbor earlier as well. Should have my license Monday sometime. Time to play with Cutoff. Thanks again for the cool tuts Psionic. Contributor Tony Nemo Posted July 28, 2013 Contributor Report Share Posted July 28, 2013 Very informative. While still in 3DC, you could boolean road cuttings quite easily and add very large structures. Where do you get the height maps?
Reputable Contributor AbnRanger Posted July 28, 2013 Reputable Contributor Report Share Posted July 28, 2013 Added a new 3D Coat Tutorial showing how to create a landscape from greyscale heightmap image data:- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHmndc8S2kA More 3D Coat tutorials coming very soon!! Reputable Contributor AbnRanger Posted July 29, 2013 Reputable Contributor Report Share Posted July 29, 2013 Thanks for sharing. It really helps getting tips from different users, as everyone kind of stumbles upon their own, unique, nifty way of doing a task. Didn't realize you could import a map as a mesh like that from the Paint Room. Thought maybe it was the logo tool in the Voxel room. Pretty nice application of that particular tool. Advanced Member wave of light Posted August 15, 2013 Advanced Member Report Share Posted August 15, 2013 Yet another cool tut/video. I think there maybe some advantage to getting hold of hand references with the fingers spread, avoiding them being to close together, especially when it comes to autopo and UVs. Keep'm coming.
