philnolan3d
Here's a WIP of my current sculpture to be printed. After I finish the other arm and the legs the parts will be made a bit thicker and I intend to put a simple tube "skeleton" all through the middle to hold the parts together. Contributor Tony Nemo Posted September 8, 2013 Contributor Report Share Posted September 8, 2013 An interesting concept, Phil. Too bad the printer couldn't handle a flexable material allowing for posing.
philnolan3d
Actually they do print flexible materials at Shapeways, I wouldn't feel like going through all the trouble of making a jointed skeleton though.
Advanced Member L'Ancien Regime Posted September 8, 2013 Advanced Member Report Share Posted September 8, 2013 How tall will it be? How many pieces? If in pieces to you have to cover up the seams with modeling putty and sand it before painting?
philnolan3d
I'm guessing about the same height of my current one, about 6 inches. All one piece so there will be no seams. It will be too delicate for sanding.
