Free hi-res scratch brushes

Recommended Posts

Indeed they can, In fact I normally use Photoshop's default brushes as my default 3DC brushes, I just made a new folder for them in the 3DC Pen tab first:

The only way I can imagine using these scratch brushes though is to crank up the Falloff and use it with Stamp mode in the E-Panel. The problem with that is that as you make the brush big enough for any real detail 3DC gets really sluggish. So I think it's best to use this as a mask then you can paint it on with more normal sized brushes.

Like so: http://screencast.com/t/YzViNmY5Yj

I've reverted to using just the defaults (I believe I got this tip from you Phil many days ago - just to 'learn' the standard brushes first and what they do)

Attached is last nights fun with the extryde tool & default brushes.

I've been producing a lot of dark stuff lately!

thank you thank you! :-)

great brushes/masks and thanks for the screencast too

That screencast is the same way I made the scratches on my Starfighter (as seen on the texturing page of the 3DC site) Actaully I think one of these brushes may have been made from the images I used (which I got from CGTextures.com)
