philnolan3d
Not in Layout to my knowledge, but there is in Core. You can see in this video from back in February:
Advanced Member geo_n Posted October 23, 2010 Advanced Member Report Share Posted October 23, 2010 Very good video from newtek. Their marketting is improving a lot. I like that they are improving layout and modeller to perform better and not adding any more non essential features.
Advanced Member 3dCoatWannabe Posted October 23, 2010 Advanced Member Report Share Posted October 23, 2010 A short tutorial from 3d-coat showing more details on best way to roundtrip a detailed model from lightwave that didn't need retopologization (and one that did) would be appreciated! It could probably be posted in the threads where that LW10 video are posted, and drive even more LW users to 3DC.
philnolan3d
Well in a couple of weeks the 3DC-LW AppLink will be done so if anything it would make more sense to do it then.
Javis
Well in a couple of weeks the 3DC-LW AppLink will be done so if anything it would make more sense to do it then. A few others have already been done, and others will be done before the LW one. It's more than a couple of weeks before the LW plugin is done. Member Dreamcube017 Posted October 24, 2010 Member Report Share Posted October 24, 2010 That's cool. Odd is on edvery video I see them go straight from voxels to lightwave... don't you have to retop or something?
philnolan3d
Well of course the whole point in this one is that they're using 2 million polys, so all they did was export the voxel mesh as it is. If you didn't know you can do that from the File menu. they did skip over the part showing how they textured it. Maybe they just did that the normal way in LightWave and Photoshop.
