You can delete points using 'Del' Press on point and then press 'Del'. Is it enough or you need collapse also? How differs expansion and non-additive drawing? You can intersect curve with non additive drawing. Where is that dot? What do you mean? It is not easy, but will think about it...

Now you can change the shader only manually. There is a file ...instal_ldir\Shaders\obj_sel.fx After change you should press CTRL+Q. If something wrong, you should look file log.txt for errors.

2.05 released!
Andrew Shpagin replied to Andrew Shpagin's topic in New Releases, Bugs Reports & Development Discussion
now works -
I have released 2.05. It is really big piece of work. So, the list of changes: General changes: 1) Adaptive geometry: now geometry will be additionaly automatically subdivided during edit process in dependence of details to get well displaced surface. It is very new and algoritmically very complex feature. 2) You can import big meshes now, up to 700 K. Many optimisatons was done to make it possible. 3) You can alter level of initial subdivision during mesh import. Now you can specify mid-poly mesh resolution. 4) new measure tool, you can measure distance in most common units - meters, inches, yards, miles, etc. Also the coordinate of picked point is printed in the right bottom corner. 5) New method of custom material mapping in custom fill pattern - mapping over existing uv-set. It allows to paing clothes in more easy way. 6) Masks are implemented. The mask is modulator for pen depth and transparency. The mask and materials could be moved and rotated independently using new navigation controls. 7) Masks and materials could be rotated discretely on 45 degrees using SHIFT. Many stability improvements. 9) New interface style. Interface looks now more clear and sharp. 10) jpg export is correct now. Curves changes: 11) Some curve points could be marked as sharp. So you can make square forms in easy way. 12) Whole curve could be moved/scaled/rotated using new navigation controls. 13) Curve can be closed. 13) You can draw arrows in easy way. 14) New curve drawing mode - spacing mode. Points will be set along curve with some spacing and jittering. It allows to make new effects with cirves. 15) Curves will be drawn correctly, even if knot points are far from each other and surface between them is curved much. Layers changes: 16) Layers masking (linking) is implemented. One layer can mask another layer in non-destructive way. 17) You can freeze the transparent or painted area of the layer. In this way you can use layer's transparency to paint selectively on another layers. It is like CTRL+click on layer in Photoshop. You can use CTRL+click on layer in 3DB now. really, you should set "Auto smoothing groups" ON and Max. Angle to 180 in 2.05 I will do it automatically for LW files Also, filling is performed using connected areas. You can limit filling using freeze tool
-
It seems that it is better for me to set 180 degrees like default value for LW import. Does anyone uses smooyhing groups in LW?
-
1. Good propose. 2. Do you mean smooth masking layer? There is command "Smooth the whole layer" in "Commands"
-
It could be really good if someone will create a short tutorial how to do it with 3DB, step by step.

2.05 beta3
Andrew Shpagin replied to Andrew Shpagin's topic in New Releases, Bugs Reports & Development Discussion
Thanks for comments. It is important before 2.5 will be released. I have several questions 1) What measns that yo can't create curves - does new point not arises on click? 2) Are you able to load old stored curves? -
Good! I have one suggestion: you can add a rivets on the edges using strip or curve tools (especially in 2.05 beta3). Also occlusion tool will rise the visual appearance.

The new 2.05 Beta3 is done. I think I will release 2.05 this monday. The list of changes: Curves improved very much: 1) some curve points could be marked as sharp. So you can make square forms in easy way. 2) whole curve could be moved/scaled/rotated using new navigation controls. 3) you can draw arrows in easy way. 4) new curve drawing mode - spacing mode. Points will be set along curve with some spacing and jittering. It allows to make new effects with cirves. Another changes: 5) new interface style. Interface looks now more clear and sharp. 6) speed improvements 7) SHIFT-constrains for mask rotation The link is below: http://www.3d-brush.com/files/3d-brush-2-05-beta3-en.exe

Yes, there is an option at the top panel "pressure depends on...." there if "...less on heights" I think it is what you need. Read hint there carefully and use it. Have fun!

1. What is cavity painting? You can paint cavity using CTRL. May be you mean something else? 2. There is Offset command for plane in "Commands" menu 3,4,5,6 - ok, now have in plans 7. Now when you will import new object, the scene will become clear and new object will be imported. Soon merging with new objects will be implemented.

Yes, I plan to make tweak tool for 3DB. Year and half ago I have made tweak tool for Wings3D

2.05 BETA2
Andrew Shpagin replied to Andrew Shpagin's topic in New Releases, Bugs Reports & Development Discussion
The problems with PS: 1) The file with all channels will have HUGGGE size, it will take many memory to create ot 2) The depth channel will be saved as 8-bit, it is not enough for good quality But: I can store depth& specular in comment "Sync layer with external editor" About repeating last action with altered params: yes, I have sliders, but I should have some button that turns on/off this mode, because in most cases you will change params for the next strokes, not previous. -
2.05 BETA2
Andrew Shpagin replied to Andrew Shpagin's topic in New Releases, Bugs Reports & Development Discussion
Thank you! Of cause I will make 'Snap'. Gamma is also good idea, at least for masks. About freeze on the fly... It is easy algoritmically but how to insert it int interface... -
Draw with Spline tool - enhancements (mainly)
Andrew Shpagin replied to wailingmonkey's topic in Feature requests
Now I am working over spline improvements. Will do at least closed curves and sharp edges. I paln to do 2 buttons like "Make sharp" and "Make soft" to mark some points like sharp or soft. -
There is "Collapse" in sculpt mode. It is the same like pinch. But it works only in sculpt mode. Really, it could be good to have something like pinch and smudge in usual paint mode. It is in my plans.

Quick Techniques and/or Tips
Andrew Shpagin replied to wailingmonkey's topic in Tutorials and new feature demos
There is one important thing in 3DB - "Additive dawing" in "Depth menu". Check if you know it, because it is important. What does it means? 1) if this option is checked (default) than all strokes will add depth. 2) if this option if off then strokes will intersect each other by depth. It works only for current layer, it is also important to know. You can see the difference on the screenshot: This option is especially important when you draw using mask or material. -
[Solved] Measurement Tool scales Feature Request
Andrew Shpagin replied to Chuckpie's topic in Feature requests
The problem is that I don't know initial units. If I have 1 unit of coordinale, how many meters is it? -
Hi all! It is me again with beta. I thank to everyone who takes part in testing betas, it helps me much to develop 3DB quickly. So, the new version 2.05 BETA2 1) Masks are implemented - I think it is very convenient improvement. If someone have good masks that could be used without license limitations, please send it to me. 2) Layers masking (linking) is implemented. You can undestand what is it by pictures below 3) Additional parameters "U/V offset" in custom material. http://www.3d-brush.com/files/3d-brush-2-05-beta2-en.exe

2.04 released!
Andrew Shpagin replied to Andrew Shpagin's topic in New Releases, Bugs Reports & Development Discussion
You need just to install, you don't need the new code.
