  1. What ajz3d posted is pretty much the accepted way. The archives are just that, archived forums. No one can post there, but are there for reference in case they can be of help.
  2. It will be released to the public build with in a build or two (which is the usual case), but keep in mind it is a beta feature with in a beta build. This is all dependent upon Andrew approving everything, so a grain of salt is needed with any timelines, etc..
  3. Hi! Sorry for the trouble. Please contact sales@3d-coat.com - They can help you with this issue there.
  4. I wish the room concept would just go away entirely, at least in the current form. Customizing the tools within the "Rooms" or tabs, ala Modo makes the most sense to me. If I want to have the Paint tools available in the sculpt room, without ever going to the Paint room, then I should be able to do that. Likewise with the multiple object panels. There is no need. A single Outline panel would do the trick for mesh objects with a little icon or something similar denoting what kind of mesh the object is.
  5. It is still optional. The only place CUDA is used anywhere in the program is in the Sculpt Room, so from within the Sculpt Room go to the menu Geometry>Use CUDA, and untick it. All done. No more CUDA.
  6. It would be great to eventually have this implemented, as gbball describes. It makes sense to me as well. I personally believe that it would be good to get these tools as they are out the door, so to speak, then we can start using them in real world production environments so you can get better feedback.
  7. Nope, I am not. You can change the theme at the bottom left of the forum. Little link there says "Change Theme". You can go back to the old Gry/Grn theme.
  8. Hi Daniel! The UV Room is not linked in any way to the Retopo Room, which is why the Retopo Room has it's own UV tools. It breaks down like this: Paint Objects work in: Paint Room UV Room Tweak Room Retopo Objects work in: Retopo Room Notes on Retopo Objects: They can be used to bake to from Paint or Sculpt Objects Have their own UV tools (in the Retopo Room only) So for your current project, you'll need to UV map the Retopo Object in the Retopo Room.
  9. This looks incredibly useful! Thanks for sharing.
  10. I believe this is intended from a change made in build 4.5.34. Here's the text: - When you paint with smart materials depth channel will replace current one on this layer instead of constant growing. I'm not sure why it was implemented. I just turned the additive depth off. Now we have no control over it. Maybe Andrew can elaborate.

  12. This is a common occurrence when exporting from 3DC, it sets the spec value very high and needs to be adjusted afterward in whatever tool you're exporting too. Glad you found the answer!
  13. Excellent! A brilliant looking mech and all around piece. I love it.
  14. I agree. It's such a small, simple thing to need, to not be able to do in 3DC.Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk

  16. Ahh, gotcha! Glad it was a simple solution.
  17. Hi, Could you share the scene file? Also which version of 3DC are you using? Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
  18. I'll take a look later today when I arrive home to see what I've been using, but off the top of my head I think I've been flipping Y/green. Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
  19. What I usually end up doing for situations like this, if I need to use 3DC, is to flip the polys to face out before importing into 3DC and then import and paint just the skybox, export and flip the polys again. (All editing like flipping I do I Modo). Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
  20. Hi, Not at the moment. That said, I've recently put in a FR for this with Andrew to implement it. That said, I don't know when or if it will happen. Maybe send Andrew an email about it too. Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
  21. The latest versions do not support Windows Vista. Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
  22. Could not agree more. I've asked Andrew for this many, many times. To be honest, it makes 3DC unusable in quite a number of pipelines. I've had companies flat out refuse to use the tool because of this feature (or sometimes this is the straw that broke the camels back scenario). It's a huge problem that 3DC breaks the intended design of the file. Especially when more than one person is working in the pipeline. This, compounded by a few other niggling issues like this, turn studios to other tools. Mari has come up many times as an alternative, and that is much more expensive. Lost users. Lost revenue. Bummer.
  23. If you find bugs or something doesn't work the way you expect, please do file a report on Mantis. It is very helpful to the developers. Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
  24. Very strange. I have never encountered that before. Is this still happening to you?
