  1. i think someone who doesnt like me signed my up to one of those "spam me with everything lists" that are ussually used for testing spam filters. and for about a month i was getting 3-5 spam emails/day getting into my inbox. But gmail learns eventually. now i get like 1000 spam emails a day, but only maybe one a week gets into my inbox. and they are the perverse ones like this:
  2. it's really not a difficult programming feat... ( especially compared to something like 3d coat). search: @, (at), [at], then some simple string operations to find and replace. first step to avoid spam is switch to gmail
  3. i think most spam bot crawlers can tell when someone write (at) or [at] or whatever else they make up.. its not that difficult.. just make emailing the person a pain.
  4. this is actually really sad, coz normal people now get pretty much zero benefit from faster processors, which explains why we are seeing this miniscule increases.. there is no money in it. im afraid its all gonna go the way of the concorde.. yeah we can go london to NYC in 2.5 hours, but not enough people are willing to pay for it to make it viable and eventually cheap.. so we sit 6 hours on a plane instead..
  5. good first effort! the best way to learn i found, is to find art you like and copy it. And compare your work with their work. That way you will figure out what it is that makes their work appealing and then be able to implement that in your own original creations. sometimes its really difficult to figure out what is lacking in your own original creations when you are starting out. with a tangible goal to strive to, it makes it much easier to improve.
  6. i read somewhere else that the french version has a bug where it doesnt export. ( due to folder naming being different on french OS). Maybe russian one has same problem?
  7. do you know if this can export: https://www.origin.com/en-ie/store/buy/spore-creature-creator/pc-download/base-game/standard-edition#details or do i need the full game?
  8. really you can export the mesh? that seems sweet. time to buy some sport =)
  9. er.. na takoy geometriyi pomoymu dolzhnobitj strashno risovatj =)
  10. well that's some interesting info. ah.. decisions decisions... thnks for that. will wait and see how the 9's go. but this also means for the 7's and 9's to out perform the 5's, the developers have to update to the new cuda toolkit...
  11. well DAMN! i feel a golden age of content creation coming on.
  12. define: "a lot" =) I think i'll just wait for a 6gb 9 series now... But im curious if this makes the gtx770 for example beat the 580...
  13. still only 256bit memory bus so they just refuse to make something that is better for CUDA than a 580?
  14. the interface looks MUCH better than draw plus. im on windows so i was looking for illustrator alternatives, but draw plus looks like a hobby software, while this one looks like its targeted at proffessionals with a universal format across apps. I really hope they port this to windows eventually. Or upgrade their draw plus line to be less "1995 vector app." =)
  15. well this is nice. I guess i'll just sit and wait till this makes financial sense
  16. i'm +1 abn ranger. Get a 580. Only thing out there that is better than the 580 is a 780, but it costs like 5 times more. everything in between is just depressing. ebay has a really good buyer protection policy in case of faulty goods.
  17. i really don't mind squashed strokes and projecting onto lower back. worst case, i could mask off the area's im painting. but realistically. I would want to use this while painting front on. And only in the initial stage of blocking colors. so for example, with a humanoid. I would be looking straight ahead at him. And just quickly block in all the colors i wanted across his body. than i'd turn off the function and keep painting as i do now. I know i can do this is bodypaint in cinema4D, but it would be nice if i could do this in 4d coat. anyway thanks for the help.
  18. it seems to make the edges softer, but still doesn't paint all the way through. The rectangle does what is expected though.
  19. my workflow (characters) : C4d: build model out of primitives, some quick box modelling on separate parts. ( i just find it easier to build a dynamic sillouette, where i can move each object around, without baking it/having a tonne of layers. also 4 view mode is very handy) 3d coat: voxel all the primitives together, smooth out edges. massage the shape a bit more if necessary. retopo in 3d coat. Bring it back to c4d, to do some modelling adjustments. Eg, extrude the edge loops around eye sockets, add some tightness loops, so it smooths nice with subd surfaces. ( a lot easier in c4d, since you see how the edge loops affect the smoothing in real time. Take it to 3d coat to uv unwrap. then depending on the model, i'll either paint it in 3D coat, and export to c4d for final rendering. Or i'll take it to c4d first, do some detail sculpting ( with layers, got to have my layers) then bring it back to 3d coat for texture painting. and then back to c4d for final rendering/rigging/animation
  20. but i want this for the brush. so i can fill in colors easier/faster on legs and arms and stuff. there is no option "ignore backfaces" for brushes?
  21. Is there an option in 3d coat, where i can paint through the entire mesh? specifically if im painting horns, legs or antena or other sausage shaped objects, i want to be able to paint on hidden polygons so if i paint a perpendicular stroke, to say a banana, then the stroke goes around and forms a ring. if that makes sense. in other words. imagine you are selecting using a live selection tool, and you turn off "only select visible" if you brush over a row of points, all the points that you dont see behind are also selected and form a ring. =)
  22. I make tutorials for cinema4D, and really want to start making tutorials on how to integrate 3d coat in my workflow, just need to do some more 3d coat practice first =) also as mentioned major apps are introducing sculpting and retopolgy tools in their new releases. But they are still quite far behind in many important area's.
  23. thanks, now i feel even smaller and less significant than before... =)
  24. not really any more 3d coat work, but thought i'd share some progress.
  25. if your friend can do what you can do without lag. maybe its a video card driver issue? either update to latest, or revert back to an older number? maybe its just a driver issue?
