Hi,

I'm starting a small new project, a great white shark.

I'll be modeling and texturing it in 3d coat.

Once the model is done I'll try to make a nice underwater scene and render it in mental ray.

I've added the fins started to put in more details.

I think next will be refining the skin, adding teeths and starting on the textures.

Sorry for the late reply, got busy with work.

The model is in voxels, it was around 10 millions but I downgraded to 2 mil now, it looks more or less the same.

I don't plan on modeling the entire body, but doing a close up shot like in my last render.

I've finally got time to work on this.

There is still a lot more to do with the textures and the lighting/render but it's getting there.

I think I'm pretty much done with this! Any ideas on how to improve it would be welcome.

The eyes are a little dead looking, The skin appears too dry to me since he just came out of the water. Some water sheen maybe. I think a little atmosphere haze for the background would help.

This is very fine workmanship all around... :drinks:

Yeah, boosting the reflection would do it with some added specularity on the eye. But an obvious maneater never-the-less.

Thank you carlosan that was interesting to watch. They see seem to be using quite a lot of composting.

Setting up underwater scenes is a pain in the "$$
