Member Cylon Posted August 24, 2013 Member Report Share Posted August 24, 2013 I'm guessing that's a 4 out of 5 no? Pretty good review as you said, the guy that wrote it sounds so familiar to me. Antony Ward, I'm sure I've seen his name a couple of times before.

Member Ruth Spacecookie Andrews Posted August 25, 2013 Member Report Share Posted August 25, 2013 Box modelling is worth 1? We need box modelling to make it perfect then
Contributor Tony Nemo Posted August 25, 2013 Contributor Report Share Posted August 25, 2013 Not to be disrespectful but we need box modelling like we need a hole in the head. 3D-Coat is a very powerful program but it shouldn't be all things to all people. If you want to 'box' model, use primatives in voxel mode where you can do boolean operations effortlessly.

Reputable Contributor AbnRanger Posted August 25, 2013 Reputable Contributor Report Share Posted August 25, 2013 (edited) Not to be disrespectful but we need box modelling like we need a hole in the head. 3D-Coat is a very powerful program but it shouldn't be all things to all people. If you want to 'box' model, use primatives in voxel mode where you can do boolean operations effortlessly. You can box model just fine, with the Pose Tool. Use the appropriate selection method, and transform however you like. Want to extrude along a spline....that's what the Curves tool is for. Additionally, one can box model in the Retopo Room, with Auto-Snap turned off (so the app isn't wasting resoruces searching for a surface beneath to snap to). That comment of his, is an example of the reviewer not knowing the toolset well enough to make that assessment and informed one.
