Is it possible to lock voxlayers?

I have an issue where I am using the post tool and I accidentally mis the thing I want to pose and it ends up selecting the thing behind it (object select), auto pick is off and is set to don't pick don't act, through all volumes i also off.  It's pretty annoying as it is a very large object behind and it takes a minute or to till the program gets going again, I'd like the tool to stick to the layer I'm working on.

But beyond that I think it would be pretty useful to be able to just lock layers entirely (without ghosting it), for more than just avoiding issues like this.

Hello there !
I'm struggling with basic things in 3dCoat after a lonnnng blank period.
Is there's another option to lock a layer; ghost mode is great, but for example
when you want a character eyes layer to look solid but unpickable while you're working on another layer,
ghost mode is kind of disturbing to me. If someone has an advice ? Thanks !

Apart from Ghosting, the closest thing I can think of is using the FILL tool in the PAINT section of the Tool Panel, to pick & freeze with one click, the object. Yes, a lock function on the layer would be a bit quicker and easier.
