    • Crash replicated and reported. Thanks for point it up
    • Hi - with this tutorial the 'Build Surface' is cool. However on build 2024.19 if you go to the Nurbs room and use the 'surface to mesh' I get a instability warning and immediate crash every time. This is a really cool feature, please look into it. I create the surface and select surface to mesh and click ok. The instability warning and then the crash dialogue.
    • Yes please add it!!!!!  Don't forget 3Dcoat is not just a modelling&retopo tool, it's extremely popular among concept artists and designers. It would be super helpful to have a better render engine as part of whole workflow. Current 3dcoat render engine is ok for single object rendering for clients, but can't produce very realistic renders.   With it's own shader system a more powerful engine I can even do whole environment concept art inside 3Dcoat.
    • Hi Oleg,  Why can't you do anything (just curious I don't understand). I did update, the problem persists. As mentionned this problem occured whatever the version, whatever the pc/mac, the only common denominator I see is the Cintiq tablet perhaps. Thanks
    • With a Face Group Selected ( by pressing the + symbol ) And then Right Clicking in Scene opens up functions for that selection. In this case, if I wanted to I could assign a surface region to the Top Face, Side Face and Bottom Face. Right Click / Geometry Assignment / Create Surface from Selected
    • Thanks for asking the the Dev Team Very happy to help Polygroups ( or as DAZ calls them Face Groups ) only show up in one place, under 'Tools Settings' Tab with 'Geometry Editor' Selected. ( please see attached ) The two main things about 'Face Groups' in DAZ 1. it is required when rigging, we assign bones to them, which in turns helps with weight mapping. 2. they can be used to create Surface Materials.
    • Nice ! yes, I agree with all, I asked dev team about the ability to keep vertices order. Bridge to DAZ is needed. the list you made is amazing, thanks for the effort. One question How to import polygroups from zb,3dc into daz ? I cant separate by regions. Thanks for you great help !
    • Thanks again for all the help Side note:  I think the ability to keep vertices order is very important. As a promotional prospect...I think a bridge between 3DCoat and DAZ Studio would be an advantage for further sales. Option 1: port mesh to modelling room to create morphs ( DAZ to 3DC to DAZ ) Option 2: port mesh to poly painting room to create or add to existing textures ( DAZ to 3DC to DAZ ): ie add tattoos ----------------------------
    • Hahaha very cool.....I didn't try that because the mesh already had seams   This is good, thank you very much   I was thinking the other day, because 3DCoat can do so much and in so many ways I think, what would be required to get others onto the right track would be simple charts that determine workflows based on different case scenarios such as this one ie: An existing mesh ( from external application ) that only requires UV update. or An existing mesh ( from external application ) that requires retopology and UVs So I asked ChatGPT.....   --------------------------------------------------------------- I have been working with the support Forums to trouble shoot a workflow issue I was having with 3DCoat. Most of that has been resolved now but it got me thinking: Because 3DCoat can do so much and in so many ways I think, what would be required to get beginners onto the right track would be charts that determine workflows based on different case scenarios ie: An existing mesh ( from external application ) that only requires UV update. or An existing mesh ( from external application ) that requires retopology and UVs Based on your knowledge of 3DCoat and the 3D Industry could you provided me short listed sentences like the above the would indicate different workflow scenarios:   Certainly! Here are some short-listed workflow scenarios for 3DCoat based on different case scenarios that beginners might encounter: Import an existing mesh from an external application for UV mapping only. Import an existing mesh from an external application that requires retopology and UV mapping. Create a high-poly sculpt from scratch and then retopologize and UV map it. Import an existing mesh for texturing and painting only, without modifying the geometry. Import a scanned model for cleanup, retopology, and UV mapping. Start with a voxel sculpt for concepting and later convert it for retopology and UV mapping. Use a base mesh from an external application, enhance details with sculpting, and then perform UV mapping and texturing. Import an existing mesh for baking high-poly details onto a low-poly mesh. Create a model entirely within 3DCoat, from sculpting to final texturing and rendering. Import an existing mesh for decimation and optimization for real-time applications. These scenarios cover a broad range of common workflows that can help guide beginners through the process of using 3DCoat efficiently based on their specific needs.
    • Try pressing with LMB the wrench in the upper right side of the web site. Which version do you need ?
    • I have the same issue. When I'm drawing without releasing the pen, my FPS drop from around 400 to 25-40 (this is what 3DCoat shows in the bottom left corner). The version I'm using is 2024.17 and I have quite a powerful laptop with Intel Core i9 and GeForce RTX 4070.   The last version on which I didn't have this issue was 2023.23. It seems something changed in 2023.24, my guess is this:     Also, after some testing I figured that the issue happens only on low poly models with big faces. For example if I create the default cube in the modeling room that has 24 faces, then I don't have the issue. But if I reduce the number of faces from 24 to 6, the FPS drops while painting. So as a workaround, I would suggest downgrading to 2023.23 or to divide big faces on the mesh into smaller ones.
    • I don't have it. I bought the product, have it in my invoices and was able to activate it. Sometimes it says that I should update and I go where the link leads and I see old versions there. But I can't find this page now.
    • it wasnt anything specific , i retopo a sphere and tried duplicating it and moving it ...
    • And yeah nomad will be on desktop and that's definitely something I'm going to buy just because it's going to make files accessible and the price is cheap. 3dc needs this flexibility to operate on desktop and mobile.
