Advanced Member Shawn Driscoll Posted August 26, 2016 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted August 26, 2016 (edited) It doesn't help, unfortunately. So I came here looking for something specific, showing the steps for importing a figure and separate cape (or modeling the cape inside of 3D-Coat). Carlosan
Also here is another method using the cloth simulator in 3DC. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R8do975zkEM
Advanced Member Shawn Driscoll Posted August 28, 2016 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted August 28, 2016 Shirts are easy. Capes... not so much. I'll just make the cape by hand, which I figured I'd have to do anyway.

Javis
Unfortunately I don't think you're going to have much luck with a cape with 3DCs cloth tool. Try Marvelous Designer, or Modo.

Try Marvelous Designer, or Modo. Yep. 3D-Coat wants to tug on and stretch my cape mesh forever. I used to have MD 1.0. I'll see if my modo 601 does something. I only use it for rendering. Reputable Contributor AbnRanger Posted August 31, 2016 Reputable Contributor Report Share Posted August 31, 2016 I haven't tried to use it in a long while, but the last time I did, I remember asking Andrew to allow us to pin the cloth. He said you could if you have another object contacting it....like a belt object, when trying to do a simulation for pants, as an example

Carlosan
After create the plane mesh in retopo room, is important to move the edge inside the base mesh model to keep the verts stick. create base model create retopo mesh Move verts inside Base mesh to stick verts Use cloth tool Start simulation Send result mesh to reto room
Javis
Thanks Carlos. I thought there might be some tricky way of doing it. Thanks for sharing it with us.
Advanced Member Shawn Driscoll Posted September 1, 2016 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted September 1, 2016 I'll try sticking verts in base mesh and see if it still stretches. I can't use the sticky option. Looks like static cling when I toggle it on.
Carlosan
Are you standing in the base model layer when select cloth tool ?
