Advanced Member blackant Master Posted January 2, 2011 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted January 2, 2011 i'm on 3dsmax, i use biped. i'd like to use xsi but i haven't enough memories for that. after few test i can say that i made some error on voxel model and retopology. my hands look tiny and some parts aren't not easy to animate without distortion. i'll clean it. philnolan3d
If you're looking for reference try picking up a garage kit / resin kit I used one of Misato Katsuragi for one of my first voxel projects. They're great because there's no color to distract you and parts like arms and legs are separated, making them easier to see. A quick Google for resin garage kit showed this store as one of the first results but of course there are many others, eBay may be a cheap place as well. http://www.animecastle.com/c-18751-garage-kits.aspx

Advanced Member Garagarape Posted February 26, 2011 Advanced Member Report Share Posted February 26, 2011 Ha ha! Didn't see your Sailor Moon series. Rendered in Marmoset! Your last character is cool. May be there is still some work to do with proportions, but the skin feel is really well done. Do you have a limit for polygons on this character? If you can use a little more to give her more volume, may be she'll be better. Of course this kind of skinny girl exists, but what about a little more curves? Advanced Member blackant Master Posted February 26, 2011 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted February 26, 2011 thanks, manga works were totally unknown for me before i started this one. girls is just a pnj, i'll retopologies a little on bra for rounding more but that's all, i can't add too much polys and pass time on her. Advanced Member Garagarape Posted February 27, 2011 Advanced Member Report Share Posted February 27, 2011 Just bought Marmoset Toolbag. Influenced by you I used to play with the demo first version during Dominance War 4, the application has improved a lot. Very usefull for the non-"renderman". Thanks man! Advanced Member blackant Master Posted February 27, 2011 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted February 27, 2011 Yes, it is rather not bad and allows to improve really the render of your work, the only thing for which I would blame him it is that the only means to import an animation is to pass by Maya. and i tested script given with, but that does'nt work ! philnolan3d
Honestly I'm afraid of Marmoset, every time I've run it in the past it completely crashed my computer.
Advanced Member Garagarape Posted February 28, 2011 Advanced Member Report Share Posted February 28, 2011 Oh, really? I've just have my pc fixed... Hope I won't have issues with Marmoset. I ran it twice yesterday without any problem. But I did have problems too when using the trial version during DW4.
