  2. Со сплайнами не смогу подсказать, там два вида сплайнов какие-то могут работать какие то нет с инструментами, плюс разное поведение на замкнутые и открытые, тут нужно тестить. Но как вариант можно фигуры те что вычитаете сначала объединить, чтобы потом софтбулин сделать уже не простой фигуры. Даже тот же сплайн к примеру из него сделать фигуру вытянув сделать скос скейлом через pose выделение, а потом софтбулином. Но мне кажется вообще моделить подобным образом в коате не лучшая идея, даже на моем примере видны артефакты при вычитании. Режим сюрфейс для добавления деталей, но моделить в нем сложно из-за таких ошибок, а ошибок таких не будет в воксельном режиме где нет софт булина, но он требует очень плотную сетку и идеального хардсюрфейса там нельзя сделать либо на очень детальной сетке, хотя от разрешения рендера зависит. Моделить для продуктных рендеров в вокселях - не получится сделать красивые грани на любом разрешении. Хотя вы может потом ретопо будете делать для игры и там не заметно. Про сплайны можете попробовать на англ спросить, тут больше продвинутых англоязычных людей. Хардсюрфейс довольно легко моделится в moi3d
  3. Если нужна скошеная фаска то можно просто вычесть как сферу еще одну фигуру - конус. Но вообще есть настройки на фаски при вычитании фигур софтбулин называется

  5. Yes i know how that works in other software. I have 3ds max it have also some option to keep soft selection after moving, and adjusting curve of selected radius, also it can make selection across surface with connected edges not volume. But in my test it is slow already on 2kk polys(4kk triangles in 3ds coat). Maybe we need curve. Though with freeze option via menu you may achieve similar effect, for example you may click freeze selection then invert and then move. There is also options to sharp and smooth freeze mask but it not very strong as you may want, also you ca n draw freeze area with brush options 2020-11-09 17-59-58.mp4

Maybe i am wrong but you comparing different methods of modelling, sculpt masking vs low poly modelling soft selection, this is not fair, try to make soft selection polygon model if it will have millions of polygons, it will be very slow. And you cannot select loops and straight lines in sculpt because it have different topology with small triangles.

  8. No i was used standard 3d coat model without UV Okay on import model something strange happens @Carlosan Can you take a look?
  9. It works fine to me, and the same in GL version. Try to reset settings maybe this helps

  11. Try to play with options buildup and indent, and in brush options you may add jitter position and radius
  12. But why do we need archive from beginning? For example i am using quixel bridge it download textures what i select and place them in folder unzipped.

I was talk about two methods, one with transparent background it will generate alpha, and another when you use height map, for example zdepth or displace map it will generate proper height map for brush, but needs to make sure what is have pure black background for 3dcoat to generate proper alpha or it will draw with similar artifact like black lines or extrude rectangle in sculpting. I notice in zbrush this is not problem but for 3d coat it need pure black background. I also notice it not big difference in 8bit and 16bit images, yes i know 8bit have 256colors gray scaled, it noticeable in render engine with displacement but in 3d coat it is always have some artifacts at edges of brush and do not have so much details as render engine or zbrush
  15. Maybe i may wrong. But you do not need many layers what 3d coat automatically creates. You can make brush with some vector shape just white on transparent background or make tiff 16bit black and white with height map, but make sure what black background is pure black. So you need only one layer for import brush
