Member SGK Posted May 30, 2013 Member Report Share Posted May 30, 2013 Started steam. 1 item downloading... Checking what's upgrading... Nice, 3d-coat v4! Goodie! Starting 3d-coat... And... unsurprising you get a trial version splash screen in your face! *Sigh* Not much more to be said... And yes, I purchased it AFTER the date specified for a free upgrade to v4. Carlosan
hello! Congrats on the new release, looks awesome! I have a problem: I own a licence of 3dcoat on steam, which I bought during the "free update to v4" period. Today when I opened steam it automatically updated 3dcoat to v4 but now when I open 3dcoat it tells me that my copy is not registered and I can chose between 2 options: run the trial or buy a licence... what should I do? When I start the program it shows my key, but then all the time it starts it always give me the same message. Thanks in advance! Please send me to support@3d-coat.com your key. You may press RMB over 3D-Coat and extract key. Of course upg should be free for you. Edited May 30, 2013 by carlosa
Advanced Member stusutcliffe Posted May 30, 2013 Advanced Member Report Share Posted May 30, 2013 I dont know anything about steam or how it is supposed to work. When I got my upgrade ( from Pilgway) I had to type my 3.7 key in a box on the 3dCoat website. That confirmed my upgrade and I was emailed my new key for 4. I suppose wherever you get 4 from it will run in Trial until it is registered with a new key.

You can always send an e-mail to 3D Coat support (support@3d-coat.com). Andrew is a lot more responsive than the typical software company/vendor. Sarcasm and antagonism in your first posts is not a great way to start a relationship with a community. If you're having an issue like this, you should email Pilgway directly to get help, because obviously the community cannot solve this type of problem. Andrew Shpagin
Problem appeared independently on us, it was just Steam technical problem. Excuse for inconvenience. Actually we keep our promises, peoples on forum may confirm it. After my request to steam problem was solved quickly, now all works as expected. In some cases steam shell should be restarted. Member Brenda von Ahsen Posted May 30, 2013 Member Report Share Posted May 30, 2013 (edited) I bought my 3D-Coat license via steam, I had no problems. I then upgraded my license to the professional version and I had no problems. I just upgraded to 3D Coat v4.0 and recieved my new license and registered via the web and I had no problems. I've had questions and have asked on the forums and found them helpful. The developer has also been very helpful the one time I need a little. The 3D-Coat forums are very helpful and compare favorably to the Luxology Modo forums. (I also own Modo and love it along with 3D-Coat) Just ask for help. It's ok, you are allowed to do that, honest.
