    • Hello, sorry for the inconvenience, I'm sure this might be easy to fix, but I've tried a ton of methods and nothing is working. So basically i want to export a retopo asset from 3DCoat, along with the textures and use them in UE5, but I'm getting a weird shading problem, not just UE5 but I'm getting the same problem in blender as well, and i have no clue what's causing it. i disable textures, i unsmooth the normals, and i have tried exporting in different methods that 3DC offers. I also have to mention that when i enable nanite in UE5 the problem goes away, but when i do that, the shadows on the asset look like ******, so it's better to not enable it.   The shading problem are those dark spots on the asset, they only appear at the bottom and top. The side that doesn't have it is the only side that does not have that problem. Thanks. And this is the asset with textures: https://mega.nz/file/X0BUBZqa#EIdu2xETwpFauzoQXH8rHpOnnlLs6uUOQ4wn-_hvuY4

    • Hi I also have the same issue in the latest 3d Coat 2024.31. I've been trying to calculate occlusion but keep getting a blacked out AO. It seems to calculate the Ambient Occlusion in 3d Coat Textura, but once I'm in 3d Coat (the normal one) it results in a blacked out AO
    • I can confirm in Arch it crashes on using the file dialog. To test it, I installed a fresh Endeavour OS (basically Arch with some script helpers and saner installer) with Cinnamon desktop (to rule out Gnome and GTK4 issues) on a spare SSD and yes, it launched fine, but on using the Save as... menu it crashes immediately. I could install any other distro/desktop if needed, but I think this is getting us nowhere. With the available knowledge, time and other resources, the sooner SERGYI manages to make a Flatpak the better, really. Put everything needed inside, and be done with it.
    • Запись экрана 2025-01-28 140123.mp4   I noticed another error there. I reported it to the developer. Thanks!
    • Magic! But this is not that 'dotted' hiding mode. That dotted hiding mode works based on the normal of the polygon. When I toggle 'ignore back faces,' it seems that 3Dcoat doesn't see that object.
    • Figured that too. I really did not get anything for latest upgrade I paid. None of the versions worked on PopOS (Ubuntu 22.04), from Feb 2024. So I am not really holding my breath here. I also think that this will continue like this as you are just human and I do not see how can you keep doing this in a future. Will keep version from Feb 2024 and slowly start switching to Blender and MARI. Both work flawless on Linux. Anyway thank you for your hard work Sergyi!
    • I can't. Запись экрана 2025-01-28 131752.mp4
    • WHY oh why, I can paint on hided mesh [or voxels]? win11
    • I can't repeat this either. The name of the retopo layer will be rewritten. But the faces will not be deleted and will merge with the new ones.
    • https://www.artstation.com/artwork/nJDxo1 Antoine Zavagno demonstrated how he created an eye-catching 3D take on Kenpachi Zaraki from Bleach that looks fully 2D, sculpted in ZBrush, textured in 3DCoat, and rendered in Blender.
    • After baking to Paint room,  UVsets becomes Surface Materials, Polygroups are converted to Paint Objects. Did you added seams and baked the models ? It is hard to tell without an UV preview screenshot (Windows > Panels > UV preview) This video demonstrates the usage of multiple UV sets in 3D Coat, and briefly touches on the new UV tile support. If you export with one UVset and 3 polygroups created you will get one .obj file containing 3 objects. Those 3 objects will have their own UV Maps, but the UVs will be distributed like they are in 3D Coat (i.e. they won't take up all of the UV Space, because they won't take up the room that the UVs from the other objects were occupying). If you want a separate UV Map for each object that takes up all the UV Space, you would need to create 3 separate UV Sets. Then move the geometry for each into those UV Sets, and Unwrap again. Then export. You create new UV Sets by clicking "Add New UV Set" from the top left menu. You then move geometry to that UV Set by first selecting it, then changing UV Set, then clicking the drop down menu to the right of that ("Move Selected") and then selecting your new UV Set. I hope that helps.
    • I am real noob at UVs, a UV set is a whole 2k/4k/8k texture ? or what is a uv set exactly. I just baked it and checked the uv sets next to simple checker on the upper left, for each layer of the poly group, 3dcoat makes a uv set correct?, but all these uvs are fit into only one image 2k/4k/8k texture correct? I mean, when i bake it seems 3dcoat will create 3 textures images of 4K, but later there will be only one texture when i start texturing... please help me understand how this works
    • Right to Simple checker on the upper left display yo can see the UVsets created
