I found it. it was a styles css extension that was for some reason hiding the top bar, because it thinks its an ad container or something. My bad.

strange for me in chrome, its just empty up top. but vivaldi works. Maybe its just my chrome browser acting up.

Anytime you do smooth selection a few times either using alphas or not you get these weird lines that form for some reason, hope this can be fixed!

If you like, can create an account to follow that issue or to add a +1

Hi all, I commented in the sculpt room bug report thread, but since I haven't had any replies and it is seriously affecting my workflow I thought I'd start a post - I wonder if there are more users with the same issue that might see this: Changing sculpt layer parent sometimes randomly freezes and crashes. Win10 2025.17 The steps to reproduce the bug are "change parent", trying to assign to a new parent layer In the video you can see me using the keyboard shortcut to change parents quickly until it happens: Honestly its been a nightmare over the last few versions. I have to save every time I change parents and it really slows me down. (I linked the original post because for some reason I cant re-upload the screencap video here)

Hi, a few suggestions: 1. Adjust scroll speed. Currently the UI elements such as the left menu, Layers panel, Brushes, Dialog such as Setup Navigation are scrollable with the two finger drag gesture, but it scrolls way too fast to be usable, so I have to use the mouse. 2. Remove the need to hover over UI elements in order to scroll them with gestures. Presently, I have to hover over (or press on) a UI element in order to scroll over that UI element. It would be great if 3DC just simply detected scrolling over a UI element and scrolled that element, regardless where the hover/pointer is. This suggestion would correct the following UX/UI issues: When working with a pencil in the viewport and (2-finger) dragging the scrollable UI elements, the viewport zooms in/out, which is unexpected. If hovering over and 2-finger scrolling element A, and later 2-finger scrolling element B, element A continues to scroll (unless I hover over element B), which is unexpected.

source... This is an example of an extension that displays information about both the mouse and cursor. This example shows how to write an extension, how to display information about the mouse and cursor, how to display the information in the viewport, and how to add a menu item with its own function. (You can assign a hotkey to a menu item you created by hovering your mouse over it and pressing the END button.) To install the extension in 3DCoat, copy this file to Documents\3DCoat\UserPrefs\Scripts\cExtensions\MouseTest\MouseTest.py . Create any missing folders. After 3DCoat is loaded, the MouseTest extension will appear in the "Extensions" window. To enable it, click the "Start" button to the right of the extension's name. If you want the extension to start automatically after 3DCoat starts, check the box to the left of the extension's name. To easily edit extensions, open the Documents\3DCoat\UserPrefs\Scripts folder in Visual Studio Code. Then you can see the documentation in hints, go to modules by holding down the ctrl key and clicking, and to activate the debugger, you just need to press F5 in Visual Studio Code after launching 3DCoat.

Can we request features  for 2026 here?  Anyway here is some of my simple request. Transform tool should have like CTRL+Drag fuction to may a copy of an object. Some kind of polygroup like Zbrush. Where you can save polygroups and like you can easily hide and isolate selections. This will be amazing where working on fingers, etc.    Thanks!

Hello, Please consider supporting barrel roll in the painting and sculpting brushes. When I hover with the pencil, I can see the alpha, but it would be amazing if I could rotate the alpha with the pencil. I think that would be interesting addition. I use barrel roll with Apple pencil Pro and an iPad with Astropad Studio (there may be other manufacturers that support barel roll, but I am not familiar with them). I can test it out on my setup if needed.

Was there any change in the shaders for 2026 version? Just testing 2026.01 and shaders looks weird and flat - even default shader doesn't display the same way as in 2025 version. Also, Sticky keys issue needs to be fixed - I have "Don't use Sticky keys" option checked in Preferences and it use Sticky Keys anyway.

Flatpak would be my prefered choice if it was available. I also use blender and many other applications with flatpak for example.  Do you have it on github or do you mind sending me the build script?

It is because, for some reason, 3dCoat uses Gnome 2 libraries. I think it is Open/Save  file dialog that is Gtk2. Which is decades old....  You will probably have some more dependency issues after you resolve this one. If you can find this library file somewhere else, download it, and place is under LinuxLibs folder (it is folder you extracted from 3dcoat archive  you downloaded here). And than add that folder to LD_LIBRARY_PATH. I did built flatpak for 2015.17, and sent to 3dcoat team, but they really do not care much about Linux, so I would not hold my breathe here.
