On 3DCoat 2025 and earlier a new technology was added to the set of Modeling tools: Smart Hybrid.
Features:
• It is an integration of different modeling methods
• Inside Smart Hybrid is a set of patches.
• There are many ways to create this model (patches)
– from a set of curves
– from a Low Poly mesh->Catmull-Clark Smoothing
– pre-created primitives Algorithm
– generate with tools (Swept, Conic)
– from selected surfaces
• It is incredibly flexible, with many graphs for editing
• It is smart, you can see if the joints are hard or smooth
• After creating the model, you can easily change the topology (InSet, Extrude, Subdivide)
• The model shows surfaces that can be changed by pulling the poles or parametric lines
